ACMHN's 39th International Mental Health Nursing Conference
Collaboration and Partnerships

22-24 October 2013, Pan Pacific Hotel, Perth

“Collaboration and Partnerships in Mental Health Nursing” reflects the changing practice domain and the importance of partnerships to the profession. As mental health nurses we collaborate and work in partnership with consumers and carers, with national and international partners, inter-professionally to foster improvements in mental health care, to bridge the theory practice gap between universities and the clinical areas. We also work collaboratively across an increasing spectrum of clinical areas with government and non-government organisations.

Collaboration and partnerships has also assisted us to work outside of the health silo to strive to improve the quality of life for consumers and carers living in the community.

Speakers and delegates were invited to consider the significance of collaboration and partnerships to their professional lives and in the positioning of the profession into the future. The host committee believe that the theme will provide opportunity for speakers to address a wide range of mental health issues, and give a wide range for sub-themes, which may include Changing practice domains for the profession; Partnerships to recovery; Fostering national/international collaborations; Enhancing the profession through collaboration and partnerships; Working with partners from government and non-government organisations; Working with Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse communities; The development of evidence based practice.
